Scuba Diving — 20+ Dive Sites
Búzios has over 20 named dive sites in unusually clear water. The reefs shelter sea turtles, grouper, parrotfish, and occasional manta rays. Visibility regularly exceeds 15 metres — sites range from 8 m gentle dives for beginners to the 35 m Fenômeno wreck for advanced divers.
Why We Recommend This
Búzios sits at a convergence of Atlantic currents that keeps the water unusually clear and the marine life unusually diverse. Sea turtles at Pedra da Tartaruga are practically guaranteed.
Practical Tips
Two PADI-certified dive centres operate from the Orla Bardot. Open Water certification courses also available (3–4 days). Best visibility May–October. Beginners welcome — no prior experience needed.
